Meet Kolawole, An Inspirational Artist And Photographer

Did you know that the first commercially available 35mm film camera was developed only 90 years ago, the digital camera became popular just 20 years ago and 15 years ago, camera phones didn’t exist?

19th of August commemorates the world photography day, so in this vein, we brought to you this week edition of celebrated CEO, focusing on the beauty in the life we live each day and how sweet the memories of the past days, weeks, and years were, photographs, videos, arts helps us in keeping these past moments. We have today someone to celebrate, he is more an artist than a photographer but he chose to keep smile on the faces of people with his God given gift and talent. Dada Kolawole Michael is an artist, a photographer, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture; he is from Ekiti state, Nigeria.

How Did It All Start?
It started when I was in my fourth year in the university, although I sketch as a kid but the hobby got triggered again after reading a book and seeing the possibilities of what this could become and what I could make out of it(not monetary but the impart on lives).

What Kind Of Business Are You Into?
Photography and art but they are not primarily businesses.

Did You Learn Or You Went For Training (Drawings And Photography)?
For art I did a lot of reading, but for photography just a number of workshops and a lot of reading also, so I could say personal development of these gifts.

So Basically, Even Gifts Are To Be Developed?
Yes, those with inborn abilities attain heights with minimal efforts and show more interest and longevity, but nevertheless, you need to develop whatever what you are born with, read books, get trained by people who has been into that area/line before you, there is lot to learn under them.
And also, if you are not born with it, to some extent you can also learn it depending on your interest and zeal.

For How Long Have You Been Drawing?
Three (3) years for the art and less than a year for the photography.

What Inspires You

God, (everything and anything).

What Are You Up To At The Moment, And What Is Up For The Future?

Building portfolios expanding my knowledge and finding my way into the new circle i got myself in.

Present Challenges
Gaining leverage into the circle socially, honing up your skills, climbing the ladder of recognition at the same time trying to monetize it and not stepping out of purpose. it gets a bit overwhelming at times, but I am trying not to loose focus.

What Is Art Business Like In Nigeria, How Enterprising Or Acceptable Is It In This Part Of The World?
Enterprising; Hmm, sort of, but a fatter reward goes to the veterans; those who have been in the business for a while. Acceptability; gradually thanks to awareness and past successes, but the industry is still at infancy, though i see a brighter light ahead.

LB "Thanks so much Kolawole for your time, we appreciate your gift, I am so lifted by your drawings and pictures, though you never take time to help me draw even an amoeba when we were in school".

HOPE OF CREATION: A number of times have men been described to be as trees in the holy book and the heart used interchangeably as the spirit of man which shapes the character of a man and ultimately who he is in the sight of his creator....if rooted in #Christ and submits to the affairs of the "Spirit" will not only be healthy but fruitful, as every darkness /carnality is expelled one by one.
A drawing i made from one of the movies that "almost" made me cry #PursuitOfHappyness #Inspirational
