BVN-WHY THE RUSH

I stepped into the bank and i saw so much crowd like the days of the Israelite matching out of Egypt, its a regular thing for this bank to have so much customers lined up to be served with the different available course meal of the bank services,

but the kind i saw this morning was just too unusual and i was forced to find out what the reason for the pool of crowd was, my investigative eyes and ears were so smart to catch the information needed even without a word.
The deadline for the CBN/Bank Verification Number enrollment has come and bank customers rush at this limited hour to get enrolled before the closure. The Central bank ordered the data collection of all bank customers for the KYC (know your customer) policy.
Commercial banks were required to enroll at least 40 per cent of their customers on or before December 31, 2014 and 70 per cent on or before the end of the first quarter of 2015. Interestingly this date got extended till the end of June 2015 but you still wonder where all of us were all these days before the hourly countdown to the deadline.
The bank at a point told the customers they no longer have the enrollment form but i bet you that these customers pushed around this mountain by getting themselves copies outside the banking hall via photocopies which on a regular day Nigerian customer will not do, so why the rush? So why the sudden modest attitude of these bank customers? Some bank customers even went as far as withdrawing there money so as to be on a safer side in-case they are unable to do the verification before the stipulated deadline and wont be stranded with what ever the penalty or outcome would be.

This is a general phenomena to us human, we wait till it's exactly little or no time to the deadline to a task before we get them done, and where there is no deadline we are likely not going to get the thing done forever, at some points we set deadlines for ourselves and try to keep it and not wanting to falter on any deadline given to us by other people.

You need not to be pushed to do what is required of you, to some people, what they want is constant reminder, some will say; "it wont take me more than an hour to get it done, so when it's exactly an hour to the log-off time I will set to work", they forgot to put into consideration the likelihood of getting stuck with unexpected challenges. You don't have to wait till it's almost late before you get those things done.
Trust me, you don't want to develop a high blood pressure as a result of challenges encountered during this rush hour thing.
So, why the rush?
